Location, location, location. Staff was friendly and responsive.
Safety is a major issue, but easily correctable. I happened to leave early in the morning for the airport and found myself locked in on the second floor. The front door downstairs has an electric lock, but anyone can reach through the door and activate the lock at any hour of the day. Then it is up to reception which is wide open. A second door then leads to the hotel rooms. During the day the second door is open. But, when I left for the airport early in the morning the door was secure, the electric lock did not work and the night employee had left keys in the hard lock from the outside. So people could get in, just not out. After playing with the door for a few minutes I figured out how to open it, about the same time a dreary eyed night shift employee must have heard the racket and came out from behind reception.

Friendly staff 😊. There's a restaurant, La Canoa, within a short walking distance from here.

The staff gave us lot of help with planning our city trip. Walking distance to Le Croissant, where you can have lunch. Great place for rest in Guayaquil. We enjoyed la fontana: )

Good location, within walking distance of the touristy areas. Room was large and comfortable, with ac. Bed was huge. Fairly clean (a couple of dead mosquitos on the walls -- but that's better than live ones).
Not sure if it's under new management or there are new staff but the service was a bit of a shambles. No-one at reception knew how to work the safety deposit box. We waited for the supervisor, who in turn said she'd have to ring the manager to get the code (and wasn't willing to do that). At breakfast, we sat in front of the woman making eggs for 5 mins before she acknowledged us (although she didn't ask us if we wanted something for breakfast). Eventually she took our order. We both asked for tea with a dash of milk. What arrived was one mug of warm milk, one mug of warm water and one teabag between the two of us. So near and yet so far!

The beds were comfortable, although the room was crowded. The staff was friendly and spoke English. They were very helpful and accommodating.
Entrance to the hotel is through a long, steep, narrow staircase. Then more stairs to our room. In spite of the great staff, I would not stay there again because of the stairway. There are other hotels available that are more easily accessible. It would have to be a real bargain to make me stay there again.

The hotel had a great location, close to the waterfront and just a short ride to the airport. During Christmas, they had festive decorations and a cozy atmosphere. the room was also clean and offered a comfortable stay.
The hotel had a lot of little issues that added up to a less than enjoyable stay. the stairs to the rooms were steep and slippery, making it difficult to navigate with luggage.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore the nearby attractions and waterfront. the friendly staff provided helpful information and even booked airport taxis. the rooms, although simple, were clean and had a nice balcony near the reception area. the checkout time was flexible, allowing guests to stay until noon.
The breakfast options were limited and could be improved.
